TAPLI FROM RACHA BY GEONATURALI
Racha is a beautiful mountainous region in Western Georgia, situated in the southern part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. This region is well-known for its unspoiled beautiful nature as well as its premium wine. Racha is one of the country's hotspots for biodiversity. When it comes to plants, especially in spring, it is not uncommon to see Racha’s mountains carpeted in white, blue, red and yellow flowers. Racha is a genuine paradise not only for lovers of nature, but also for the diligent Georgian Honey Bee.
Geonaturali is a company founded by the Racha native beekeeper Giorgi Iashvili, who is producing Tapli in partnership with his fellow beekeepers of the Racha Natural Products cooperative. The producers pasture their bees in carefully selected remote places, which are featured by a plethora of woodlands of acacia, linden, and chestnut trees. Only native bears sometimes disturb the peaceful collecting of honey in these untouched regions.
Geonaturali bottles their honey locally in a new and well-equipped beekeeping facility in Ambrolauri, the administrative center of Racha, complying with latest European standards. Geonaturali’s Tapli harvested in 2018 has a naturally balanced taste, with mild sweetness of linden and exquisite bitterness of chestnut. Its intense aroma reflects the picturesque woodlands of Racha.
