With her kind concern over the life quality of people in the rural area, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has granted the Office of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn”  in order to assist the people who live in the rural area to have other jobs apart from their regular work which help increasing their income from agriculture in order to elevate the quality of their living. The Office of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects has joined both the government and private sector to establish occupation groups by providing training and supporting tools and equipments and funds as well as establishing circulating funds for the occupations. The office also assists in marketing whereas giving priority to preserving local wisdom and adding value to the local raw materials. After a period of operation, villagers are able to produce products, but they have no market to sell their products. Her Royal Highness Kindly managed the office to buy products from villagers and sell them during the Red Cross fair which is organized annually. However, the office cannot sell the products consistently and adequately. In 2001, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s had established ‘Phufa Shops’ with the children and youth in remote area development fund in order to support the selling of various products from occupation promotion projects under the royal initiative. This has completed the cycle of production and marketing by selling products produced by villagers in rural area to customers in the city. Phufa shops enable the proper inventory management of products and become permanent outlet shops of products under the management of the personnel allocated by Her Royal Highness. The National Food Institute of the Ministry of Industry is the organization that has the mission in adding value to the Thai food industry. The institute has assisted, according to Her Royal Highness’ initiative, in developing the products for the local enterprises in Nan Province, Khonkaen Province, and Rajaburi Province under the occupation promotion projects by improving products, packaging, and food quality and safety. This certainly promotes the products under the ‘Phufa’ brand to meet the international standard by adding value to the products generates long-term income for the local enterprises.
